Katie Weymouth graduated from John Moores University, Liverpool, with a degree in Illustration and Graphic Design. She went straight into teaching to earn a crust, delivering painting workshops to the young and old. These days, she can be found in her haberdashery shop where she teaches watercolour painting.
Katie is still doing exactly what she used to as a little girl - mostly making a mess and playing her music too loud. She begins her artwork with doodling in her sketchbook - creating characters and textures which she then tweaks digitally, coaxing her creations to life! She particularly enjoys painting birds and florals/botanicals.
She created Audrey, a red-haired Inventor who spends most of her time in her shed with her cat, making stuff (Hmm. That sounds familiar . . . ) “Audrey the Amazing Inventor” is published by Quarto Books.
Katie's work has been described as, “ beautiful and painterly with plenty of expression, texture and great colour stories which stand out in the crowd.”
She likes nothing better than getting stuck in to a new project!
