What if I’m not sure my ideas are good enough?
Picture Perfect is designed as a creative playground for story illustration ideas.
The goal isn’t perfection — it’s experimentation, exploration, and discovery.
Many great picture book concepts begin as small or unusual ideas. The weekly prompts help you develop and strengthen those sparks into fully illustrated stories.
Do I need to be a professional writer or illustrator to join?
Not at all. Picture Perfect is suitable for writers, illustrators, and creatives at all levels who want to explore picture book storytelling.
Whether you’re just starting out or already developing ideas, the course will help you build stronger story concepts, characters and structure.
Do I need to attend the live sessions?
No. The weekly live work-along sessions are optional and all sessions are recorded for replay, so you can watch them whenever it suits you.
What if I can’t keep up with the weekly schedule?
The weekly prompts and videos are available through the course platform, so you can work through them at your own pace during the course period.
Many participants find the weekly structure helpful for staying motivated and finishing their ideas.
Will I finish a complete book pitch?
Yes — the course is designed to guide you step-by-step toward at least one finished manuscript and picture book dummy,, along with several additional portfolio pieces and story ideas you can develop later.
What happens after I book?
Once you’ve booked your place, you’ll receive confirmation of your spot.
When the course begins, you’ll receive access to the course platform, where the weekly prompts and videos will be available.
You’ll also receive details about the live sessions and Discord community.
What happens if the course sells out?
We limit Picture Perfect to 40 participants to keep the course interactive and manageable.
Once those places are filled, registration closes.
Will I get feedback?
While we cannot guarantee individual feedback for every participant, we will provide feedback to selected Artists.
Can I use the story I create for publication later?
Yes. All participants retain full copyright of their work.
