Do I need to attend the live sessions?
No. The weekly live work-along sessions are optional and all sessions are recorded for replay, so you can watch them whenever it suits you.
What if I can’t keep up with the weekly schedule?
The weekly prompts and videos are available through the course platform, so you can work through them at your own pace during the course period.

Do I have to illustrate my story?
No. This course focuses on story development and picture book writing.
Illustrators are welcome to sketch ideas if they wish, but it’s not required.
Will I finish a complete story?
Yes — the course is designed to guide you step-by-step toward at least one finished picture book manuscript, along with several additional story ideas you can develop later.
What happens after I book?
Once you’ve booked your place, you’ll receive confirmation of your spot.
When the course begins, you’ll receive access to the course platform, where the weekly prompts and videos will be available.

What happens if the course sells out?
We limit Tale Twist to 40 participants to keep the course interactive and manageable.

While we cannot guarantee individual feedback for every participant, we will provide feedback to selected Artists.
Can I use the story I create for publication later?
Yes. All participants retain full copyright of their work.
The stories you develop during the course are entirely yours to refine, submit, or publish in the future.
How much time should I expect to spend on the course each week?
Most participants spend 1–3 hours per week working through the prompts and exercises.
